The Escale Worldtime has a yellow arrow pointing to 12 o'clock which always points to local time, and the time in other cities can be read by lining up the city with the corresponding hour on the 24-hour ring.

Initially, the names of the cities and corresponding emblems were hand-painted on the dial and was cased in white gold. However in recent years, Louis Vuitton has switched the case to a combination of white gold and titanium, and the city rings are no longer painted by hands.
