Zhang Daqian (Chang Dai-chien, 1899-1983)

Autumn in the Wu Gorge; Poem in Running Script
Ink and colour on gold paper; ink on gold-flecked paper, folding fan
Titled and signed Daqian Jushi Yuan, dedicated to Wang Jiyuan (1893-1975), with one seal of the artist. The reverse signed Daqian Zhang Yuan, with the same dedication and two seals of the artist
Dated jiashen year (1944)

款識:
巫峽清龝。濟遠仁兄屬正,甲申(1944)花朝前二日,大千居士爰。
(另面)
不教塵負踏青遊,出郭聊為一笑謀。新水已堪浮艇子,好山無賴上眉頭。風撩髩影春衫薄,樹罨溪陰翠幄稠。一塢桃花偏入意,江村橋畔小淹(留)。甲申(1944)夏日,濟遠吾兄囑正,大千張爰。

鈐印:張爰之印信、張爰私印、大千居士

上款:「濟遠」為王濟遠(1893-1975),江蘇武進人。一九一二年畢業於江蘇第二高等師範學校。一九二〇年加入劉海粟在上海創辦西洋畫團體「天馬會」,名噪一時,與畫家汪亞塵、張大千、張善孖、陳澄波、潘玉良等過從甚密。後任教於上海美專。一九四一年赴美定居,並於一九七一年在美國華盛頓史密斯桑寧博物館,與相交半世紀的好友張大千合辦展覽。
