度索移來。伯嚴老弟雅屬，丙辰（1916）仲夏日，安吉吳昌碩年七十三。

古雪埋秋藤，日久化梅樹。空山頗不無，見者果何處。夢踏菖蒲潭，拾級仰元葉。烟雲沸虛竇，蛟虬舞當路。脚底莓箈青，一往一卻步。野鴨驚人來，叫得寒天曙。【香雪海作】老梅千年如古查，乘之去訪萼綠華。天風浪浪海濤涌，快嚼玉蕊餐朝霞。【畫梅】。伯嚴仁弟正詩。吳昌碩。

上款：「伯嚴」即陳三立（1853-1937），字伯嚴，號散原。江西義寧人（今九江）。晚清名臣陳寳箴子，史學家陳寅恪、畫家陳衡恪之父。光緒十二年（1886）舉人，授吏部主事，旋棄職，侍父湖南巡撫，推行新政。戊戌政變後，被革職，永不敘用。一九〇〇年，陳在南京築「散原精舍」，以詩文自遣，不問政事。一九一一至一九一五年間寓滬，與吳昌碩同為海上九老會成員，陳亦為吳撰寫〈墓志銘〉。有《散原精舍詩》十七卷傳世。
註：「度索移來」典出《山海經》：「東海中有山焉，名曰度索，上有大桃樹，屈蟠三千里。」
