A Danish silver beaker

unmarked, late 17th century
Tapering form, with snakeskin texturing, the front engraved with coats of arms, the base inset with a 1665 Thaler, height 10.5cm, weight 6oz.

Footnotes

The marital engraving depicting arms and initials is for Laurits Christensen Vesterhoff til Skerrildgård and Dorothe Elisabeth Brøndsdorph, married circa 1687. The lip is engraved with the name of their daughter Kierstine Marie Brønsdorph, and the later engraved date of 1707 is the year of her christening.
