MASONIC INTEREST: A George III Irish silver salver

Gustavus Byrne, Dublin 1796
Oval form with a thread border, with a bright engraved running band of flower head roundels and leaf scrolls on a finely engraved linear ground, the centre further engraved with scrolls and foliate festoons, centred with engraved coat of arms within a shield and surrounded with ribbon-tied drapery, on four bracket feet, reverse engraved with a presentation inscription:
"The Brethern of Lodge No 190/15 present this piece of plate to their respected Brother Jonas Pasley as a grateful testimony of their esteem & approbation of his conduct while master of his lodge, July 1st AD 1795 AL 5795, Jas Tandy Master, Wm Walsh, Jnothan Ash, Wardens", length 42.5cm, weight 52oz.
