Lucien Bonaparte (1775–1840) was a younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte and a French statesman, who served as the final President of the Council of Five Hundred at the end of the French Revolution. Lucien held genuinely revolutionary views, leading to a fractious relationship with his brother Napoleon, who seized control of the French government in 1799, when Lucien was 24.
