Movement by Antoine Cronier
Date: Last quarter 18th century
Movement: Circular brass plates, anchor escapement with thread suspended pendulum, striking the hour and half hour on bell by means of a crossed out count wheel
Dial: White enamel, roman chapters, pierced gilt hands
Case: On spreading base with running scroll frieze, the arched case draped with oak leaf swag and surmounted by similarly draped urn finial
Signed: By Saint Germain along base of urn, by Cronier on dial

His clock cases often signed because as juré he was instrumental in the passage of the Bronze-founders' Copyright Resolution in 1766 that gave proprietary rights to a founder's models.

Antoine Crosnier (1732 – after 1806) Maȋtre 1763. Established in Rue St. Honoré 1759, he was a prolific maker.
