A FINE 3½ INCH GAUGE MODEL OF G.N.R. IVATT 'ATLANTIC' EXPRESS LOCOMOTIVE No. 1414,

the superheated copper-boilered, live steam coal fired 4-4-2 locomotive with twin outside cylinders, the cab with lever and quadrant reverse, safety valve, pressure gauge, water gauge glass, boiler feed controls, handbrake, firehole door, the 6-wheeled tender with water and coal spaces and lettered GNR, all finished in light apple green, lined black edged white, with transfer cabside number, mounted on section of display track under glazed display case with brass information plate,
the model 44in (112cm) long

Footnotes

No. 1414 was originally designed by H.A. Ivatt and was built at Doncaster in 1905. Only one of these locomotives escaped scrapping when the class was withdrawn in 1950, it was the first of the class built (originally numbered 251 of 1902) preserved by the Science Museum.
