AN ARMOR WITH A MOGAMI DO

Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
The components lacquered black and laced in blue with orange highlights, the 22 plate russet-iron suji kabuto mounted with a five-stage copper tehen kanamono, the fukigaeshi applied with printed leather and the bowl fitted with a five-lame shikoro, the gilt-copper maedate formed as a large crescent moon; the ryubu menpo with hinged nose plate, lacquered black and fitted with a four-lame solid-plate yodarekake; the mogami do laced in sugake style, applied with two gilt rings and fitted with seven sections of five-lame kusazuri; the oda gote with gourd-shaped plates on chain mail; Etchu haidate and shino suneate; with an armor stand and a wood armor storage box
