Canyon Diablo with Regmaglypts

Iron-Nickel
Winslow, Arizona

This beautifully shaped palm sized specimen with regmaglypts represents one of the most sought-after iron meteorites by collectors. Most available Canyon Diablo meteorites are mere flakes weighing just a few grams. The nearly one-mile-in-diameter crater near Winslow, Arizona was created over 50,000 years ago when a 50-foot-in diameter meteorite exploded high over the Arizona desert. Because no specimens are available from the source at Meteor Crater, specimens may only be obtained from collections. Weighing approximately 508 grams and measuring 3 x 2 x 1 1/4 in
