Spessartine Garnet and Diamond Pendant

Named after its original source in Spessart, Germany, the best deposits are presently found in Africa. Spessartite garnets of a reddish-orange color with excellent clarity normally do not exceed three carats in weight. Generally, large gems of spessartite garnet are either dark with unattractive color and/or inclusions. This very large cushion-cut gem is, therefore, rare for its deep, vivid orange hue, excellent transparency and brilliance, weighing approximately 24.91 carats, mounted in two-color 18K gold, the white gold bail set with twenty brilliant-cut diamonds.
