Footnotes
The present lot was a diplomatic gift from the Swedish government to the newly installed Uruguayan Ambassador to Sweden on the occasion of his taking the post in 1954.
The work was possibly executed as part of the Venini exhibition that was held at the Nordiska Kompaniet department store in Stockholm, 1953.
It is conceivable that the present lot was produced by Venini to include elements of both Tyra Lundgren's design from 1936-37, the threaded decoration devised by Carlo Scarpa's in 1942 and the form borrowed from Ken Scott's design of 1951.
The four fish in question were diplomatic gifts from the Swedish government of the time to the Uruguayan Ambassador on his four year posting to Stockholm from 1955-59.
