A celadon jade 'monkey and peach' pouch-form vase
Qianlong seal mark, Late Qing dynasty/Republic period
Carved in the from of a silk purse with bulging sides drawn inward at the neck by a loosely tied ribbon, the undulating rim imitating the natural contours of fabric, five high-relief monkeys scaling the vessel and a peach branch wrapping around one side, the base carved with a four-character Qianlong seal mark, two further seals carved at the lower body, the stone a pale green tone with some white and russet areas.
