Disney: A large collection of model and publication sheets,

1940's-1970's,
consisting of approx. 40 early edition model sheets from the 1940's-1970's, together with approx.20 reproduction model sheets; and 13 official publication sheets from 1971 for numerous Disney productions, including; Pluto, Mickey Mouse, Bambi, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Snow White, Lady and the Tramp, Pinocchio, Donald Duck, Ichabod Crane, Mary Poppins, Sword in the Stone, and Sleeping Beauty; accompanied by a dye transfer print for Bambi, some stills, and three original sheets of comic strips for the Mickey Mouse King Feature comic, model/publication sheets approx 14in x 11in (36cm x 30cm) each, (Qty)

Provenance:
Offered by Animator and Studio Manager of Walt Disney's London Studio (1953-1968), Peter Adby.

Adby joined the Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Ltd Company based on Wardour Street in London in December 1943, at the age of just 14. He was interviewed for the job of 'office boy', with the promise that he would go in to the studio as a trainee artist when it reopened after the war. After a couple years in the stock room, he soon became part of the commercial team in 1945, becoming Studio Manager for the London studio in 1953. The London studio was responsible for using the Disney characters created over in the USA for use in merchandising, toys and games etc here in the UK. During his time at the London Disney Studios, Adby worked on projects associated with some of the most prominent Disney productions such as; Dumbo, Pinocchio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, Sword in the Stone, Mary Poppins, The Aristocats and The Jungle Book - among many others.
