A Westerwald stoneware pewter-mounted jug (Enghalskanne), 2nd half 17th century

The globular body glazed in blue, applied and reserved with circular medallions enclosing flowerhead motifs, a lion head mask moulded below the spout, the neck and foot also partly glazed in blue, applied with a strap handle and contemporaneous pewter cover, 23.2cm high
