A Meissen mustard pot and cover, circa 1740-45

Each side painted with a military scene within elaborate gilt quatrelobe cartouches, surrounded by scattered sprays of 'Holzschnittblumen', the spout moulded with a bearded mask, the handle heightened in gilding, the cover similarly decorated, the rims gilt, 16.4cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, gilt B. to both (small restored chip to spout, chip to handle) (2)
