A Meissen 'Cris de Paris' figure of a hurdy-gurdy player, circa 1755

Modelled by Peter Reinicke, wearing a white headscarf, puce-lined green dress, yellow underskirt and red shoes, the base moulded with gilt-edged scrollwork and applied with leaves and flowers, 13cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to the rear of the base (left thumb restored, neck of instrument broken off)
