A Meissen 'Cris de Paris' figure of a marmot seller, circa 1763-74

Modelled by Peter Reinicke, wearing a white head scarf, yellow bodice and white skirt with indianische Blumen, pulling a marmot out of a box and holding a staff, the base moulded with gilt-edged scrollwork and applied with leaves and flowers, 14cm high, crossed swords and dot mark in underglaze-blue, incised 23.
