A very rare Meissen armorial teacup and saucer, circa 1730-35

Each painted with the arms of Lognay and another, enclosed by scattered flower sprigs, the rims with gilt scrollwork bands, the saucer: 12.5cm diam.; the teabowl: 4.3cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, 71 painted in puce (2)

A coffee cup and saucer from the same service was sold in these Rooms from the Hoffmeister Collection, Hamburg, 25 November 2009, lot 83. Other than a coffee cup and saucer, formerly in a Bad Pyrmont private collection (Meissener Porzellan des 18. Jahrhunderts aus Bad Pyrmonter Privatbesitz, exhibition catalogue (2002), p. 122, and another formerly in the von Klemperer Collection, Dresden (L. Schnorr von Carolsfeld, Porzellansammlung Gustav von Klemperer (1928), no. 259, pl. 27), no other pieces from this service are recorded.
