A Meissen teabowl and saucer, circa 1739

Painted in the style of J.E. Stadler, with a Chinoiserie scene of a figure holding a large fan flanked by a fence and flowering shrubs, the rims with a purple trellis band reserved with panels enclosing chrysanthemums, the teabowl: 5cm high; the saucer: 13.5cm diam., crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, impressed Dreher's marks for Johann Christoph Schumann to both, impressed numeral inside footrim to saucer / incised inside footrim to teabowl (flat chip to teabowl footrim) (2)
