A pair of Meissen yellow-ground Augustus Rex vases, circa 1730-35

Of ovoid form, each side reserved with a purple-edged quatrelobe panel boldly painted with flowering branches of indianische Blumen, the neck painted with butterflies and small flower sprigs above a gilt band, gilt band to footrim, 28.5cm high, AR marks in underglaze-blue, incised x (one with restuck section to neck) (2)
