The bell topped case with handle and pine cone finials over canted front angles, fish scale side frets and a moulded base on replaced ogee bracket feet, the 6.5 inch arched brass dial with circular aperture revealing the figure of Harlequin rocking in time with the pendulum framed by a painted scene of a woman pointing from a window and two standing men looking on, over the Roman and Arabic chapter ring, fancy shaped recessed signature plaque and matted centre, the movement united by five knopped pillars, twin gut fusees with knife-edge verge escapement rack striking on a bell, the backplate and apron engraved with foliate scrollwork centred by a ho-ho bird, and a short bob pendulum. Together with two case keys and a winding key, ticking, striking and repeating the hour. 51cms (20ins) high (4)
