A FINE AND RARE ENGRAVED GILT BRASS OVAL STRUT TIMEPIECE OF LARGE SIZE

Framed by an intricately pierced and engraved openwork border of interlaced flowers and foliage to a stepped bezel with formal border enclosing the bevelled glass, set to the rear with a sprung and hinged support with wheel terminal, the 5.25 inch Roman chapter ring with delicate floral group to the centre framed by similar floral groups to the mask, with retailers signature and original blued steel spade hands, the movement wound via an integral key with lever escapement with plain three arm balance. Signed again on the rear cover 'C.F. HANCOCK, 39 Bruton St. London' and further numbered twice.
