A rare mid 19th century continental cast brass grande sonnerie striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm and calendar dial

The foliate inspired case with entwined ivy leaf handle over cast running foliage, the base decorated with a cyclamen border, the signed rectangular white enamel Roman dial with blued-steel Breguet style hands over subsidiaries for alarm and date behind a hinged door to allow for hand setting, the movement with cylinder escapement recessed below a brass platform with brass balance, the striking and repeat work in polished steel mounted on the backplate with a steel square to select petite sonnerie, grande sonnerie or silence, the two bells and three hammers mounted in the base. 21cms (8 inches) high (1)
