A good late 19th century French engraved brass repeating carriage clock with three porcelain panels, alarm and original travelling case

The dial marked Paris
Surmounted by a rippled handle over the repeat button and bevelled oval inspection panel, the porcelain side panels depicting two lovers frolicking on a swing on a bleu celeste background on a raised base, the rectangular Roman dial with blued-steel spade hands over an alarm subsidiary dial all set amongst a painted boating scene set in a gold foliate border, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform escapement and bimetallic and compensated balance, striking the hours and half-hours on a blued-steel coiled gong mounted on a block stamped A.D. Ticking, striking and repeating. Sold with the original velvet lined travelling case with glass viewing panel and an associated double ended winding key. 16.5cms (6 inches) high (3)
