Gustaf Lofberg began his career as an office boy at a timber company in Vaxjo and later worked for both the Kosta and Rejmyre Glassworks. In May 1898 he opened his retail business in Malmo selling glass, porcelain and crystal. He later became the general agent for Gallé in Scandinavia. When in the 1930s interest in Art Nouveau decreased his remaining stock of Gallé was stored until its discovery in late 2008.
