Emile Markovich (1894-1981) was a prominent Russian photographer and collector who emigrated to France in 1920. In 1923, he opened a photography atelier in Paris at Rue de Passy, 60. As a photographer Markovich was immensely popular in Russian immigration circles; he made portraits of members of the Russian Imperial Family living in Europe and captured likenesses of many prominent Russian cultural figures in his stunning images. After the Second World War, he relocated to the USA.
