The makers have kindly confirmed the guns were completed in May 1931 for Sir Ian Walker with 28in Whitworth Steel barrels. In December 1971 new barrels, chambered 2¾in., choked Full & Full, were ordered on behalf of Holland & Holland.
Sir Ian Peter Andrew Munro Walker-Okeover (1902 - 1982) succeeded his father as 3rd Baronet of Gateacre Grange in 1915. He was awarded D.S.O. and bar for his service in the Second World War and served as Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire for over thirty years.
