A Full Armour In Continental Late 16th/Early 17th Century Style

Of steel, comprising a close-helmet with one piece skull, hinged upper-bevor pierced with a pair of vision slits, visor pierced with vertical slots on one side and an arrangement of circular breaths on the other, two-plate gorget riveted to the helmet front and rear, two-piece breast-plate carrying tassets each of nine upward-lapping lames, back-plate shaped to the back and with culet of five upward-lapping lames, full arm defences including fingered gauntlets (some finger lames loose and missing), full and leg harness with articulated round-toed sabatons, the main edges turned and roped, and with dome-headed rivets throughout (artificially pitted): on a padded velvet-covered wooden stand; together with a 20-bore flintlock pistol, by W. Aston, early 19th century (worn, some rust patination, full stock with some old splits and damage, ramrod later), Tower private proof marks, and a percussion pistol (3)
