The First Qajar, 19th Century

The first with domed steel skull etched with a sun, the ground between the rays etched with foliage alternately inhabited by a male portrait bust in contemporary costume, the rim bordered by panels of Persian verses in cursive script, fitted with two plume-holders, adjustable nasal with shaped finials, and vandyked camail (some losses, central spike missing, surface rust patination); the second each of characteristic form and carved with narrow grooves over most of their surface, one retaining much of its spinifex gum terminal (3)
The first 15 cm. high, the second 73 cm. and 63 cm. long
