With blued octagonal sighted barrels each inlaid in silver with delicate symmetrical interlace at the breech and rifled with twelve spiral grooves, border engraved case-hardened breeches numbered '1' and '2' respectively and decorated with foliate scrollwork, tangs en suite and each with back-sight, detented locks, hammers and mounts also en suite, the former with highly burnished internal parts, the latter comprising spur trigger-guards, pointed trigger-plates, and pommels each drawn-out to a diamond shape and with baluster terminal, lightly figured half-stocks each with fluted butt and carved with symmetrical foliage in low relief against a finely punched ground on the fore-end, white-metal barrel-bolt escutcheons, no provision for ramrods, and in fine probably unfired condition: in original lined and fitted highly figured mahogany case with full accessories, the inside of the lid stamped 'FD. CLAUDIN BTE. A PARIS' in gilt letters, the exterior of the lid with shield-shaped vacant brass escutcheon, the whole set in exceptional condition, Liège proof
