Signed Norishige (Gakumei), Koto

The o-suriage blade with two mekugi-ana, midare hamon with tobiyaki, itame hada, the copper habaki chiselled and inlaid in gold, silver and shakudo on one side with an open fan and on the reverse with a pigeon, fully bound tsuka with shakudo-nanako fuchi-kashira decorated with chrysanthemum heads in gold and shibuichi, soft-metal menuki decorated en suite, and circular iron tsuba with shakudo rim chiselled with various samurai in a landscape, soft-metal details, full Soten signature and made at the age of 75, in its longitudinally ribbed black ishime lacquered saya
