Footnotes
''My father, who lived in Barcelona, was a wildlife painter. He painted birds, especially doves. In old age, as his eyesight deteriorated, he entrusted his brush to me, and asked me to paint the doves' feet, because he was finding this detailed work difficult. Once he was satisfied that I was going a good job, he laid aside his brush for good, and I succeeded him in our family of artists. How joyful he would have been if he were still alive to know that my two humble little doves had flown around the whole world.'' - Pablo Picasso
