The case with fitted interior containing: a silver-gilt button hook, glove stretchers, shoe horn, mirror, with leather-covered easel back, height 35.4cm, eight silver-gilt lidded and engraved glass bottles, including a flask, a shaped-oval lidded box, a four-piece manicure set, each engraved with a crest, also containing tortoiseshell items, a powder pot, a pair of hairbrushes, a pair of clothes brushes, a hand mirror, a rectangular tray, length 30.5cm, each set with a gold crest, the interior with grey moire silk, also with retail mark for Drew & Co of Leadenhall Street, case measurements 56cm x 38cm x 20cm.

This lot was sold Sotheby's 29th May 1997 lot 138. In the description it describes this lot with an initialled canvas cover and purports to have belonged to 'Alice Ward, who was an Edwardian beauty and friend of King Edward VII, a potrait photograph is included in the lot'.
