A very large carved giltwood pier mirror

elements apparently second quarter 18th century but with later alterations, probably altered in size during the 19th century
the shaped rectangular plate encompassed by bevelled subsidiary plates, with shaped and eared upper and lower sections, the volute scroll, floral and acanthus carved cresting centred with a classical mask surmounted by a projecting stiff-leaf and acanthus spray, the shaped and foliate scrolled apron with a central scallop shell, 254cm high x 136cm wide.
