the movement signed J.F.Larse, Paris
the elaborate arched case with caddy top surmounted by a trumpeting herald finial above a central classical female maskhead, the canted front corners with caryatids over and scrolling acanthus mounts, raised on confirming swept panelled feet, the glazed door enclosing a 10" white enamel Roman and Arabic thirteen part dial with pierced scrolling hands, the inner case inlaid with with a trompe l'oeil chequered 'floor' before scrolls and lambrequins, the brass twin train movement with anchor escapement with outside countwheel striking the hours and half hours on a bell mounted onto the inner top of the case, with pendulum, winder and case key,
