A Regency mahogany sideboard attributed to Gillows

Circa 1815, of bowed breakfront form, the superstructure with four reeded and ring turned baluster shaped front supports and four conforming engaged rear columns, with two short central frieze drawers flanked by two deep drawers, each enclosing various open compartments, interspersed by reeded angles, on six ring turned and reeded tapering legs, 197cm wide x 70cm deep x 114cm high, (77 1/2in wide x 27 1/2in deep x 44 1/2in high)

Footnotes

On the offered lot the distinctive double moulded panelling to the drawer fronts accentuated by projecting square angles, along with the elegant reeded tapering legs, are all characteristics found on some fine examples of Gillow's furniture, predominantly produced during the period 1810-1820.
