AN IMPORTANT RUBY AND DIAMOND RING, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS

Set with an oval-cut ruby, weighing 3.21 carats, within a round brilliant-cut diamond surround and diamond-set quatrefoil shoulders; signed Van Cleef & Arpels, no. 24727; with French assay and maker's marks; estimated total diamond weight 1.40 carats; mounted in 18k gold; size 6

Accompanied by an SSEF report stating that the ruby originates from Burma, 'pigeon blood red' colour of strong saturation, with no indications of heating. Report #81913, dated 25 September 2015.

Accompanied by a Gübelin report stating that the ruby originates from Burma (Myanmar), pigeon blood red colour. Also accompanied by an appendix stating that unheated rubies of gem-quality are rarely found in nature, and that rubies from Mogok, Myanmar possess a red body colour and red UV-fluorescence and are the most desirable in the world. Report #15097112, dated 16 September 2015.

Accompanied by a GRS report stating that the ruby originates from Burma (Mogok, Myanmar), vivid red (GRS type 'pigeon's blood') colour, with no indication of thermal treatment. Also accompanied by a Platinum Award stating that the ruby is a rare combination of size, excellent color, excellent brilliancy and transparency, and spread of thermal enhancement. Rubies from Mogok are extremely scarce. Report #GRS2015-090657, Platinum Award #1654, dated 10 September 2015.
