A HUANGHUALI BRUSHPOT AND TWO GNARLED ROOT WOOD BRUSHPOTS, BITONG

18th/19th century
The huanghuali brushpot of attractive grain, the waisted waisted body with tapering sides flaring to the mouth rim, 15.5cm (6 1/8in) high; the other brushpots each formed of a single section of brown rootwood, the natural twisted shape partially carved to enhance the knotty, gnarled appearance, 13cm (5in) and 12.5cm (4 6/8in) high.
