Quartz, Green Turquoise and Wood Carving by Dalan Hargrave--"The Mystical City"

Featuring a nearly optically clear quartz crystal point originating from Switzerland. The quartz has been reverse and internally carved to depict a "Mystical City" of the future, with towers and volcanic features as well as ringed planets, comets, and three inlaid planets of opal, lapis lazuli and turquoise. Five of the six sides of the crystal have been polished to reveal the high degree of clarity, the sixth side has been left with a "natural" which forms part of the image seen from the front. The quartz is raised on a specimen of vivid green turquoise, originating from Carico Lake, Nevada, carved and highlighted with applied goldleaf. The hexagonal form base bears hexagonal incised highlights, embellished with gilding, signed Dalan for Vigoff, dated 2017. With a push button for ease of illumination permitting no cord to be necessary. When viewed through the top of the termination, an interior inlay of blue and green opal is seen, which glows red when illuminated. A stunning work of American lapidary craftsmanship. Measuring 9 x 4 x 4 in
