Reflections invites the viewer into an intriguing world of thought, emotion and illusion. The lady in the painting gazes out at and engages the viewer at the same time being reflected in the mirror, while her mirror reflection reaches out of the mirror to touch her hand, adding a surrealistic and other-worldly dimension to this charming work.

Through the superposition of multiple layers of transparent and semi-transparent paint, using a technique similar to that of the old Dutch Masters, Olga Polunin (b. 1963) has achieved a luminosity and depth of colour only oil colours can achieve.
