Kid Kosolawat's (1917-1988) Floating Market is a colourful and empathetic representation of the lives of those he observed and lived amongst. The daily rituals of river life, cooking, bathing, and trading is captured for all to see.

His painterly style gives his work an expressive impressionistic quality, especially of the figures, soft light but striking chiaroscuro of dark shadows of the static water village and moving boats on the water.
