In the present owner's family for at least 100 years

The latter panorama with the Castel Sant'Elmo shows the same view, but with differences in some of the boats, as the signed work by Juan Ruiz offered at Sotheby's, 16 December 1999, lot 84. Numerous further versions of both views are are also known.
