Footnotes

Provenance
Burdett-Coutts Collection

Chinese decoration on Chelsea is surprisingly rare and mostly copied Yongzheng 'private trade' wares from the 1730s. Two raised anchor beakers with very similar decoration are illustrated by F Severne Mackenna, Chelsea Porcelain: The Triangle and Raised Anchor Wares (1948), pl.18, no.41.
