Two pink lustre Toby Jugs, circa 1830

Of traditional form, seated and holding lustre decorated foaming jugs in both hands resting on their left knees, wearing black tricorn hats, pink lustre coats and yellow breeches, the smaller with the monogram 'T.H' in black script to the reverse, 21.2cm and 24.7cm high (2)

Traditionally associated with Sunderland, pink lustre was widely used in other pottery-making centres, although it is likely these Tobys both originated in the North East.
