Document signed ("Keith Richards"), 3 pp, 4to, July 21, 1987, countersigned by "an authorized officer" of Virgin Records America, mounted with corner tabs, matted and framed with a color photograph of Richards.
RICHARDS SIGNS WITH VIRGIN BEFORE HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM. This preliminary contract was prepared just before Richards went into Le Studio in Morin Heights, Quebec to begin recording his first solo album, Talk is Cheap (1988). Richards, who had been having disagreements with Mick Jagger over the direction of the Rolling Stones asserted his independence by signing with Virgin while the Rolling Stones were under contract to Sony Music. The band would follow him in 1993. Overall: 10 x 40.25 in.
