A Kiss/New York Dolls concert poster
1974
New York Dolls with Kiss, I.M.A. Auditorium, Flint, MI, Brass King, June 12, [1974]. Lithographic concert poster printed in purple ink, featuring image of the New York Dolls and variant Kiss logo with a woman's lips touching the "K."
The New York Dolls had released their 2nd album Too Much Too Soon just a month before this show and Kiss had released its debut earlier in the year, which only sold 75,000 copies, and would go into the studio at the end of the tour that year to record the follow-up Hotter Than Hell. Although Kiss were initially considered an imitation of the New York Dolls, the band was reported to have outplayed the Dolls, who would soon disband the following year. 17 x 11 in.
