A large group of approximately 55 Bill Graham Fillmore/Avalon Ballroom posters
1967-1969
A sizable collection of Bill Graham Productions posters collected by a San Francisco shop owner who had helped to advertise for the shows. Bill Graham, who began in promotions after managing the San Francisco Mime Troupe, soon became the dominate force in San Francisco rock promotions. Graham was known for being a shrewd, hard-nosed businessman and his great shows of the 1960s were a stepping stone for a major career cut short by a 1991 helicopter crash.
