In 1925 Jeanne Lanvin, Worth, Cartier and Callot designed the Pavilion of Elegance at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs at the Grand Palais. Armand Ratteau was tasked with designing many of the interior furnishings for the exhibition. A similar design to the present lot, together with a chandelier was conceived by Armand-Albert Rateau for the imagined boudoir of an actress.
