Footnotes

Dudley Adams (1762-1830) was the son of George Adams, Sr. (1704-72), who wrote numerous treaties on globes and scientific instruments in the 18th century. The family were well known makers of terrestrial and celestial globes and pocket globes. Dudley carried on the family business after the passing of his father and brother, George Adams, Jr. (1750-95), until he went bankrupt in 1817.
